Edit we were unable to do our run because of a lack of heals. Trying again saturday night.
This is your reminder that Hayven(Solaris) and I will once again be running a 10 man ICC this Friday. Last week we were able to achieve a full clear in about three hours, hopefully this week our WHARGARBL technique will have been perfected, so we can get time in on the new wing.
Invites 4:30 server, priority to mains and those that have come with us before.
Remember that we don't determine raid comp until we see who's shown up and who decided real life is more important than pixel dragons. Please log on and wait to be told the raid is full before you abandon us in the dread king's lair
Since we're rather fond of the last minute cram session, here's the tankspot videos you'll be watching five minutes before we pull anyway.
Some tips for the healers on valithria (and what I think is the central point for them getting the fight down).
When the portals spawn you jump into 'em and there's these green orbs flyin' around everywhere. Each time you hit one it gives you a 10% increased dmg and healing, as well as 200 mana every 3 seconds. It stacks, I have not found a limit.
You get x seconds of the debuff every time you hit one, and the time stacks up. It is very important you get enough that there's ~ 30 seconds on the debuff when you leave the green potal realm. Note that you only have about 20 seconds to run around picking them up while you're literally swimming in the air to pick 'em up.
The buff can stack between portal phases. I think I got it up to 25 stacks and was an idiot and let 'em fall off. The orbs are pretty touchy about you going through them, but it's pretty obvious when you hit it. Hope this helps.
Heya Amy, due to an incoming snowstorm I seriously expect NOT to work tonight and would be available to heal on my priest, Serenastar, shes got about 3k sp and you can armory her. If there is room and you need a holy priest, I can let you know for sure a little later on, but am leaning toward staying in tonight. Of course if you are full I wouldn't want to step on any regular's toes, so no offense if you don't need me =) I'll be in touch again soon ish
PS Have a mage, Siennastar, not so well geared as my priest or hunter, but perhaps a warm body, lol

A lot of stuff about Valithria
To add to that, so you spend less time on this than we did: stacking the buff over time (as in, getting more and more on each portal phase, since it lasts long enough to stack) seems really important. Jay was healing for, what, 3 times as much at his peak? It makes healing her without that buff feel like a waste. For that reason, we had 2 healers go in every time, and one healer (me) heal the raid.
The biggest concerns with healing outside is keeping both tanks in range. They will occasionally need to split up, so proactive healing can help. Another thing to watch is for the void zones and the frost circles on the floor. The void zones will mana burn you, and the frost circles send you flying, which can cause a tank death (and did, for me). Usually the frost circle thing is preceded by a frostbolt, so you may need to dispel yourself to escape in time.
As I mentioned in the other thread, it seems like pallies and shamans have it the best when going through portals, since they can fulltime heal on Valithria while still helping out on the raid (beacon and AA, respectively). For that reason, a priest or a druid should be left to heal the raid.
Good luck. The fight is very hectic from the perspective of the outside healer (but maybe boring for everyone else? Haha).
