Neat. But just in case you're not aware - seif is a fair bit farther along the chain than I am, so if I'm chosen, I'll have to do the whole thousand-souls bit. (Although I imagine it won't take all that long with both ICCs on farm up till Arthas.)
EDIT: I'd also like to do the roll sooner rather than later, so that each of us can prep accordingly!
To be honest, the infusions can be done in a lockout, by the time ker gets to where I am, I will have shards collected most likely.
No offense officers or Kai, I don't really see a point to another roll off, it seem unnecessary and quite frankly insulting on the work I've done already, waiting my turn after Connor's as was previously (well I had thought) talked about.
I feel like I was just a placeholder with no real value right now. _________________ *FACEPLANT!!*

Hey, even if so, better fake value than none!
'Tis a good point, and I shall abide by whatever decision is made. I admit, though, I'm not really sure why you started preppin' for SM with another dude in line ahead of you; it seems extremely unlikely that we're going to get two before Cata's about to come out. Even once we get the infusions down, it'll take a long time to get the shards. 25-50% chance on 11-12 bosses = ~3-6 per week, so it would take about three months to get all the shards required for the quest. (Not counting heroic modes, which will likely take a long time to get down and come at the expense of farmsmashing everything else.)
Thus, by my reckoning, the first person will get the axe in mid- to late-summer if we are skippy about things, leaving the second person to get the axe in late 2010, which is when Cataclysm is slated to come out.
honestly nothing against ker here but i really think it should just be seif seemings how he already has the axe and the 1000 souls and pretty much ahd his unholy infusion last week he just needed to survive the fight. . . .this is just my opinion however . . .i mean getting the 1000 souls for ker will take a bit longer than you think man. . .even with it on farm up to LK thats like what 200 per or maybe 300. still at least 2 - 3 weeks
Shadows Edge was an upgrade, and it gave me some chance of a shot of getting a legendary, something I was previously robbed of. Even still, with a minor shot, it was a shot I was willing to strive for. _________________ *FACEPLANT!!*

The rules we set out for Shadowmourne in the OP of this thread were designed in the way we felt were best for the guild, fair to the people invovled, and consistent with the way we do things. I tried to be very explicit in saying that the shortlist was something that we would re-evaluate over time. That's what we did with Valanyr and that's what we said we would do here.
The extracuricular work you did on getting souls is commendable, and it certainly does give you a head start towards completing the axe over Ker, but I think we may be overstating the magnitute. We will not be doing the frost infusion until we reach a certain level of comfort with the Sindragosa fight so it's not like you'd be rolling in shards before Ker gets his souls done.
Had Connor stayed in the guild and continued to work on his Shadowmourne, you would have had to wait till his was complete, still have the attendance and performance to be on the shortlist, win the roll, and had enough time left before Cata to complete the shards. I would say that your odds of getting a legendary just went up. Perhaps it would also be prudent to wait until the result of the roll before claiming that we're robbing you of a shot at the legendary.
I don't mean any of this to sound harsh or hostile, I'm just trying to make it clear that all we're doing is upholding the rules we set out from the beginning to be as fair as possible. If you think we're going back on our word, please go back an re-read the OP. We're not trying to rob anyone of anything or devalue anyones contributions to the guild.
Well can't say that relieves my feelings on the matter, but rules are rules.
Until the roll time can I ask tho to do the first two infusions next raid lockout and given when you feel we are comfortable with the Sindra encounter, I attempt to do the final one? _________________ *FACEPLANT!!*

Hmm. I also feel I should point out that since I discovered that the gbank* is out of them primordial thangs, this too will cause a significant delay if I am chosen; even if I were to hurl all available badges and funds at PS, I'd still need a good fifteenish. Frankly, I am no pro at raising funds, especially ~22k in a brief period of time, so... complexities.

If it helps, I could lend whoever up to 30k for primordial saronites, assuming that I could be promised some sort of reasonable pay back scheme (2k/week or whatever).
